Stop, Drop, and BJR
Welcome back BJR fans - it's been a while since our last update, and I
hope the bruises have healed. BJR finds himself quite attractive lately,
and he hopes you all share this opinion the way pack dogs share raw meat.
Also, the amount of fan mail / death threats coming from this list has slowed
considerably since I stopped checking my mail. Please don't be afraid to
write, we won't be afraid to ignore anything sent our way.
new life in
austin
I'm now feeling "settled" in Austin, which is a sure sign of
senility or an upcoming worldwide jello shortage. I now
remember why Texas BBQ lasts a lot longer than the time you spend eating
it. Also, I've now seen my share of dead armadillos carrying beer
bottles. I really wish I had thought of this.
new
house
Krista and I have moved into a house in Austin, simply because
apartment life was a lot like living in an apartment, and for the opportunity to
get to sing "our house", "raise the roof", and "house of pain" as often and as
loudly as we want. Of course, we've signed over the next fifty years of
earnings to a strange mixture of bankers, agents, Home Depot, and a sloth named
Bobo. Bear seems to have adjusted faster than any of us in the move.
And, if you're ever in Austin, there are some great hotels near the old
airport.
new office
"Reactivity Austin" has
just moved into office space - during our first week the Air Conditioning (the
equivalent of "oxygen" in other parts of the country) went out and we found ways
to spend time with all of our clients. Our neighboring companies are all
curious what we do and why we smirk a lot. Actually, I'm sort of curious
why we smirk a lot.
new rump
Some of you may have heard I
finished first in the MS150, a 168 mile bike "tour" for multiple sclerosis from
Houston to Austin in mid April. By finishing first, I of course mean that
I finished before I collapsed, instead of vice versa. I could tell you
stories about the soreness in certain parts of my body, but I'd need to see a
credit card so I could verify that you're at least 18 years of age.
Actually, the event was a lot of fun and not as bad as I had expected thanks to
Krista dragging me up and down the hills of Austin for a month.
